At Her Expat Life we have always been aware that a different way to female-preneuring and networking has been needed. So we took matters into our own hands!
Weaving Meaningful Connections, a female centered networking event hosted by Her Expat Life, kicked off its inauguration in the heart of Barcelona, Spain´s entrepreneurial and start-up capital. The city is particularly recognized for its dynamic tech environment.
Hosted by our Chief Growth Officer, Mar Mollet, the event brought together dynamic female investors, entrepreneurs, freelancers, and corporate leaders from around the globe who forged powerful connections, exchanged invaluable advice, and unlocked new opportunities in a relaxed setting.
When asked what motivated the birth of this event series, Mar shared that her personal experiences at networking events highlighted a glaring gap in the community.
¨A lot of networking events are hard on time. You just have time to exchange contacts, do a brief pitch about yourself and move on to the next person. What I wanted us to create was a relaxed setting where women that have an extensive background can network in a space where you have time and good energy,¨ she notes.
Attendees got to interact with each other in a natural setting, and various stories of innovation, resilience and excellence were shared.
In attendance was the Founder of Her Expat Life, Candice Smith, who has long seen and advocated for the value of female-focused communities and networks.
¨For Her Expat Life, this milestone really demonstrates how we have worked very hard at networking and creating community. For the past two years we have been saying that our network is our net-worth and I think this event, the turnout and the quality of women here proves that¨, says Candice.
